Butterfly kisses 


I have to dry a tear,
every time I hear
those lyrics -
Butterfly kisses…

Times gone by…
I’ll never know why -
the tears I cry…
You’re not there to dry…

Perhaps if you knew
the pain I’ve been through,
you might want to undo
the pain caused by you…

But knowing you, 
the way I do -
you do not even know
what I’ve been through.

You were never there.
A girl should share
some of the moments
life brings, with parents.

Years down the line -
this heart of mine
is afraid of emotions.
Thanks to your rejections.

Daddy tell me why,
every time I cry -
it’s over the need to
have a father too…
